Details of the Incident
During the field coverage of the iPhone 18 launch ceremony in Erbil, an unfortunate incident and a clear violation of journalistic duties took place.
While conducting an interview, Muhammad Khailani, a reporter for “Kurdistan Press,” asked writer Farhad Pirbal for his opinion on the phenomenon of “female models doing advertisements.” In response, the writer became angry and acted disrespectfully toward the reporter.
According to eye-witness accounts and gathered information, the writer poured the wine in his hand directly onto the face of reporter Muhammad Khailani, subjecting him to physical and psychological humiliation in front of all attendees.
Statement of Condemnation
The Kurdish Intellectuals Organization in the UK strongly condemns this disrespectful act. Incidents of this nature represent a dangerous setback for press freedom, open expression, and the safety of media personnel.

بەپێی زانیاری و شاهیدی ئامادەبووان، نووسەرەکە بەردەستی شەرابەکەی دەستی فڕێدەداتە سەر ڕووخساری پەیامنێرەکە (محەمەد خەیلانی) و لەبەرچاوی ئامادەبوواندا ڕووبەڕووی سووکایەتیکردن و سووککردنی جەستەیی و دەرونی دەکاتەوە، ڕێکخراوئ ڕۆشنبیرانی کورد لە بەریتانیا بەهەموو شێوەیەک ئیدانەی ئەم بێ ڕێزیە دەکات و ڕووداوگەلی لەم شێوەیە پاشەکشەیەکی مەترسیدارن بۆ سەر کەشوهەوای ئازادی ڕۆژنامەگەری و سەلامەتی کارمەندانی ڕاگەیاندن.
