Attack on “Bwar Media” Journalism Team in Sulaymaniyah by Bakhshin Hospital Security

Today, July 9, 2026, in Sulaymaniyah, the journalism team of “Bwar Media” faced an attack and obstruction by security guards and staff of “Bakhshin” Hospital. The attack occurred while the team was preparing a news coverage regarding suspicions and reported evidence that the hospital’s director is a specialist in veterinary medicine rather than a graduate of human medicine.
Incident Details and Reporter’s Statement
Muhammad Dilshad, a Bwar Media reporter present at the scene, stated that the hospital’s security guards and staff assaulted him and his videographer, confiscated his mobile phone, and prevented them from completing their coverage.
Regarding this violation, Muhammad Dilshad stated:
“Do we now have to fear hospital security and staff as well?! Previously, arrests and obstruction by security forces were major issues for journalists; but now that most of those forces treat the media properly, it seems hospital security and staff have become the new force suppressing work and media freedom! If the subject is about genuine information, why should questioning and covering it lead to attacking journalists and seizing phones? What great media freedom!”
The Organization of Kurdish Intellectuals in the UK issued a statement strongly condemning this attack and violation by Bakhshin Hospital security. The organization emphasized that such behavior serves as a dangerous indicator for freedom of the press and the deprivation of journalists’ rights to carry out their authentic duties.

ئەمڕۆ، ٩ی تەممووزی ٢٠٢٦، لە شاری سلێمانی، تیمی ڕۆژنامەوانی میدیای «بوار» بەرەوڕووی هێرش و ڕێگریبوونەوە لەلایەن پاسەوانان (سکویریتی) و کارمەندانی نەخۆشخانەی «بەخشین». هێرشەکە لە کاتێکدا ڕوویدا کە تیمەکە خەریکی ئامادەکردنی ڕوماڵێکی ڕۆژنامەوانی بوون سەبارەت بە گومان و بەڵگەی پێدانەوەی زانیاری کە گوایا بەڕێوەبەری نەخۆشخانەکە پسپۆڕی ئاژەڵییە و دەرچووی پزیشکیی مرۆیی نییە.
وردەکاریی ڕووداوەکە و لێدوانی پەیامنێر
محەمەد دڵشاد، پەیامنێری میدیای بوار کە لە شوێنی ڕووداوەکە ئامادەبوو، ئاماژەی بەوە کرد کە پاسەوانان و کارمەندانی نەخۆشخانەکە پەلاماری خۆی و وێنەگرەکەیان داوە، دەستیان بەسەر مۆبایلەکەیاندا گرتووە و ڕێگرییان لە ڕوماڵەکەیان کردووە.
محەمەد دڵشاد سەبارەت بەم دەستدرێژییە ڕایگەیاند:
«ئیتر دەبێت لە سکویرتی و کارمەندی نەخۆشخانەش بترسین؟! پێشتر دەستگیرکردن و ڕێگری لەلایەن هێزە ئەمنییەکانەوە کێشەیەکی گەورە بوو بۆ ڕۆژنامەنووسان؛ بەڵام ئێستا کە زۆربەی ئەو هێزانە لەگەڵ میدیا مامەڵەی دروستیان هەیە، وادیارە سکویرتی و کارمەندی نەخۆشخانەکان بوونەتە هێزی نوێی ڕێگری لە کار و ئازادی میدیا! ئەگەر بابەتەکە دەربارەی زانیاریی ڕاستەقینە بێت، پرسیارکردن و ڕوماڵکردنی ئەوە بۆچی دەبێتە هۆی پەلاماردانی ڕۆژنامەنووس و وەرگرتنی مۆبایل؟ خۆش ئازادی میدیا!».
ڕێکخراوی ڕۆشنبیرانی کورد لە بەریتانیا ڕاگەیەندراوێکی بڵاوکردەوە و تێیدا بە توندی ئیدانەی ئەم هێرش و دەستدرێژییەی پاسەوانانی نەخۆشخانەی بەخشینی کرد. ڕێکخراوەکە جەختی کردەوە کە ئەم جۆرە ڕەفتارانە ئاماژەیەکی مەترسیدارن بۆ سەر ئازادیی کاری ڕاگەیاندن و زەوتکردنی مافی ڕۆژنامەنووسان لە ئەنجامدانی ئەرکە ڕاستەقینەکانیان.
