Erbil FC president blocks paytaxt Media

The President of Erbil Sports Club has threatened to bar “Paytaxt Media” and close the gates of the Shahid Franso Hariri Stadium to the media outlet. This obstacle arose after the outlet gave a voice to a photographer who was wronged and deprived of his financial rights, bringing his case to public attention.

Nicherwan Erbili, who has worked as a photographer for Erbil SC for two years with a monthly salary of 350,000 IQD, has not been paid by the current club administration for over a year. Despite his continuous efforts, Safeen Yasin, the President of the club, has refused to meet with him or resolve his financial issue.

After losing hope, the photographer commented on the club’s official social media page to demand his rights. However, instead of resolving the issue, club officials blocked his account. Consequently, he turned to “Paytaxt Sport” to make his voice heard. In response to the publication of this statement, the President of Erbil SC contacted the media network and threatened to prevent Paytaxt Sport staff from entering the stadium.

“Paytaxt Media” emphasizes that it will continue its work adhering to the highest ethical standards, asserting that no threat can deter it from reporting the truth. The outlet also highlighted that Paytaxt Sport is officially licensed by the Iraqi Football Association (IFA) to cover matches and holds the right to enter all stadiums across Iraq. Therefore, any attempt to restrict its staff is considered a clear violation of IFA regulations.

From a legal perspective, the club administration’s stance involves two major violations under the Kurdistan Region Press Law (No. 35 of 2008):

• Article (7 / Second): Reaffirms a journalist’s right to obtain and publish information, as well as to attend public conferences and events. Denying coverage at a public stadium directly violates this right.

• Article (7 / Fourth): States that journalists must not be subjected to any pressure, obstacles, or insults due to their published content or views.

Following these violations, Kashma Farooq, Media Officer at the Kurdish Intellectuals Organization in the UK, strongly condemned these restrictions and threats.

The Kurdish Intellectuals Organization in the UK stresses the importance of amplifying free voices and protecting media personnel rights. The organization’s resolute stance reflects:

• Defense of Freedom of Expression: Standing against any attempt aimed at silencing independent media or covering up corruption and administrative negligence.

• Support for Media Workers’ Rights: Elevating local violations to an international level and engaging global platforms to prevent abuse of power against employees and journalists.

The Kurdish Intellectuals Organization in the UK will not stop at issuing condemnations and documenting these violations. In the near future, it plans to submit this documentation regarding the state of press freedom to international press freedom advocacy organizations. This step aims to generate leverage and positively shape the media freedom landscape in the Kurdistan Region.

سەرۆکی یانەی هەولێر هەڕەشەی ڕێگری کردن و داخستنی دەرگای یاریگای شەهید فرەنسۆ هەریری بەڕووی دامەزراوەی «پایتەخت میدیا» دەکات. ئەم کۆسپە دوای ئەوە هات کە دەزگاکە دەنگی وێنەگرێکی مەغدور و بێبەشکراو لە مافە داراییەکانی گەیاندە رای گشتی.

نێچیرڤان هەولێری، کە ماوەی دوو ساڵە وەک وێنەگری یانەی هەولێر بە مووچەی مانگانەی ۳٥۰ هەزار دینار کار دەکات، زیاتر لە ساڵێکە لەلایەن ئیدارەی ئێستای یانەکەوە مووچەکەی پێنەدراوە. سەرباری هەوڵە بەردەوامەکانی، سەفین یاسین، سەرۆکی یانەکە، ئامادە نەبووە بەیەکەوە دانیشن یان کێشە داراییەکەی بۆ چارەسەر بکات.

دوای بێئومێدبوونی، وێنەگرەکە لە لاپەڕەی فەرمیی یانەکە لە سۆشیال میدیا کۆمێنتی کردووە تا داوای مافی خۆی بکات، بەڵام بەرپرسانی یانەکە لەبری چارەسەرکردن، ئۆفیشیاڵ ئەکاونتەکەیان «بلۆک» کردووە. دواتر ناوبراو هانای بۆ «پایتەخت سپۆرت» برد بۆ گەیاندنی دەنگی. لە وەڵامی بڵاوکردنەوەی ئەم لێدوانەدا، سەرۆکی یانەی هەولێر پەیوەندی بە دامەزراوەکەوە کردووە و هەڕەشەی ڕێگری لە هاتنەژوورەوەی ستافی پایتەخت سپۆرت بۆ ناو یاریگا کردووە.

دامەزراوەی پایتەخت میدیا جەخت دەکاتەوە کە بە بەرزترین مۆڕاڵی ئیتیکی لە کارەکانی بەردەوام دەبێت و هیچ هەڕەشەیەک ناتوانێت لە گواستنەوەی ڕاستییەکان بیوەستێنێت. هەروەها ئاماژەی بەوە کردووە کە پایتەخت سپۆرت بە فەرمی لەلایەن فیدڕاسیۆنی تۆپی پێی عێراقەوە مۆڵەتی ڕووماڵکردنی پێدراوە و مافی هاتنەژوورەوەی بۆ تەواوی یاریگاکانی عێراق هەیە؛ بەمەش هەر ڕێگرییەک لە ستافەکەی بە سەرپێچییەکی ئاشکرای ڕێنماییەکانی فیدڕاسیۆنی تۆپی پێی عێراق ئەژمار دەکرێت.

لە ڕووی یاساییەوە، ئەم هەڵوێستەی ئیدارەی یانەکە دوو سەرپێچی سەرەکی لەخۆدەگرێت:

ماددەی (۷/ دووەم): جەخت لەسەر مافی ڕۆژنامەنووس دەکاتەوە لە بەدەستهێنان و بڵاوکردنەوەی زانیاری و بەشداریکردن لە کۆنگرە و چالاکییە گشتییەکاندا. ڕێگری لە ڕووماڵکردن لە یاریگایەکی گشتیدا، پێشێلکردنی ڕاستەوخۆی ئەم مافەیە.

ماددەی (۷/ چوارەم): ئاماژە بەوە دەکات کە نابێت ڕۆژنامەنووس تووشی هیچ فشار، ئاستەنگ یان سووکایەتییەک بێتەوە لەسەر بڵاوکردنەوەی ئاراستە و بڵاوکراوەکانی.

لە سەرەنجامی ئەم پێشێلكارییانەدا، کاشما فارووق، بەرپرسی ڕاگەیاندنی ڕێکخراوی ڕۆشنبیرانی کورد لە بەریتانیا، بە توندی ئیدانەی ئەم ڕێگری و هەڕەشانەی کرد.

پاڵپشتی لە مافی کارمەندانی میدیا: گەیاندنی دەنگی پێشێلکارییە ناوخۆییەکان بۆ ئاستی نێودەوڵەتی و ناوەندەکانی دەرەوە تا ڕێگری لە بەکارهێنانی دەسەڵات دژ بە کارمەند و ڕۆژنامەنووسان بڕەخسێنرێت.

ڕێکخراوی ڕۆشنبیرانی کورد لە بەریتانیا تەنها لە ئیدانە کردن و تۆمارکردنی ئەم پێشلکاریانە نامێنێتەوە، بەڵکو لەماوەیەکی نزیکدا بەم بەڵگانەوەی دۆخی کاری ئازادی رۆژنامەنووسی پێشکەشی ئەو ڕێکخراوە نێودەوڵەتیانە دەکات کە داکۆکی لەئازادی کاری راگەیاندن دەکەن و دەبێت ئەم هەنگاوە یارمەتی دەر بێت بۆ دروست کردنی فشار و ئاراستە کردنی ئازادی میدیای لە هەرێمی کوردستان.
