With great pleasure and pride, we participated in the Sandwell Community Summit, which brought together representatives from diverse communities alongside senior local officials, members of Sandwell Council, the Mayor, the Police, and a wide range of civic and community figures. This important event was held at the Sandwell Council House and served as a valuable opportunity to strengthen relationships and build new pathways for cooperation among communities.
As the Kurdish community, represented by the KCO Leadership Council, we were honored to take part with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to public service. Our presence reaffirmed the active and important role of the Kurdish community within the diverse social fabric of the region.
In my remarks to council leaders and institutional representatives, I emphasized that the foundation of any healthy and successful society lies in serving humanity without discrimination based on nationality, religion, ethnicity, or any other identity. Division and exclusion not only weaken social cohesion but also create unhealthy environments where challenges are repeatedly reproduced. Therefore, it is essential that we work together with unity and a shared vision to achieve our common goals and create a better environment for all.
Sandwell Council warmly welcomed our participation and expressed appreciation for our contributions, highlighting the positive and active role of the Kurdish community. This recognition clearly reflects that the Kurdish community has become an important and effective part of the local social structure. They also pointed to future opportunities for further collaboration and joint initiatives between all parties.
We firmly believe that through unity, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to serving everyone, we can build a stronger, fairer, and more peaceful community.
