Violations against journalists in the Kurdistan Region continue and the Kurdish Intellectuals Organization in the UK continues to support journalists and record all violations and then present them.
On the evening of November 29, 2025, while covering a demonstration in Lajan village, Khabat district of Erbil province, against the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) Lanazi oil refinery, security forces attacked journalists of Channel 8 with guns and confiscated their belongings.
The Kurdish Intellectuals Organization in the UK condemns these continuous attacks and violations and describes them as a threat to journalism in the Kurdistan Region and the lack of freedom of expression.
