Kurdish Cultural Organisation Helps Shape Sandwell’s 10-Year Masterplan
Following a formal invitation from Sandwell Council in the West Midlands, the Kurdish Cultural Organisation attended an important workshop and discussion as the official representative of the local Kurdish community.
The workshop was dedicated to developing a “10-Year Masterplan” for the boroughs of Sandwell, Smethwick, and the surrounding areas. Mr. Govand Ahmed, President of the Kurdish Cultural Organisation, and Mr. Aras Blbas, the organisation’s Secretary, were present to contribute to the discussion.
We are proud to announce that during the event, the proposals and perspectives put forward by the Kurdish Cultural Organisation were given significant consideration and will be used as a foundational element in the council’s strategic plans. This marks a vital step in ensuring the needs and aspirations of the Kurdish community are reflected in the region’s future development.
The workshop was attended by numerous councillors, Members of Parliament (MPs), government officials, and representatives from various civil society organisations. It provided an excellent opportunity for our organisation to network, build relationships, and discuss potential future collaborations.
Notably, the Kurdish Cultural Organisation was formally recognised as the sole representative of the Kurdish community at the event, and our presence was warmly welcomed by the organisers.
